We're pleased to confirm Apple’s latest products - iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max - will be coming soon to O2. All will be available to pre-order from 1pm on 17 September and will deliver from 24 September, and will be available in-store from 8am 24 September. Further details on prices and tariffs will be available only when pre-orders begin.

iPad (9th Gen) and iPad mini (6th Gen)

Also announced by Apple during their 14 September event was the 9th Generation iPad and new 6th Generation iPad mini, both of which are available to order now and will deliver from 24 September, and will be available in-store from 8am 24 September.

Watch Series 7

And lastly, Apple also announced the Apple Watch Series 7. This will be coming to O2, but we have no further details to share on the range, or have any dates, pricing or tariffs to share at present. Main Questions 🔝

Q. Are you going to be stocking the new iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max?
A. 
O2 will be ranging the all of these devices and will be available to pre-order from 1pm on 17 September and will deliver from 24 September. See further details on www.o2.co.uk/iphone for consumers, and https://www.o2.co.uk/business/register-for-updates for Business customers.

Q. Apple also announced a new iPad, iPad mini and Watch Series 7. Will you be stocking those too?
A. 
Yes. During the Apple Event on 14 September 2021, the new iPad (9th Gen) and iPad mini (6th Gen) were announced - both of which are available to order now and will be delivered from 24 September.

 

Q. Will O2 be ranging the Apple Watch Series 7?
A. 
Yes. We have no further details to share on the range, or have any dates, pricing or tariffs to share at present. Please keep an eye on our social media feeds, website and here on the O2 Community for future update as and when the details become available.

Q. How does your extended warranty work on the new iPhone?
A. 
We have recently introduced a new tariff to eligible devices called ‘Plus Plans’ (
more info here), which includes an extended 3-year warranty, regardless of tenure. So if for example you pre-order one of these new iPhone’s and customise your plan length to only 12 months, then you can rest assured that your device is under warranty for the full three years.

Q. What other extras will I receive if I get a new iPhone on a Plus Plan?
A. 
You can find more info on 
Plus Plans here but as well as the extended warranty mentioned above, you’ll also receive additional benefits including roaming at no extra cost in 75 countries, and an O2 Extra such as 6 months of Disney+, Amazon Music Unlimited, or 12 months of Audible or Amazon Prime Video. You’ll also get up to 6 months of Apple Music, just to top it off.

Q. As a business customer, what offers will be available to me with the new iPhone?
A. We’ll be able to offer you even more savings on things that matter to your business, such as:

  • 50% off the price of our Unlimited plan for first 3 months
  • 50% off O2 Insure damage cover on all handset tariffs
  • £30 off AirPods on all handset tariffs


Discount / Cost / Pricing Info 🔝

Q. Do you have any O2 Recycle offers with the new iPhone?
A. 
You can trade in your old iPhone and save up to £360 on your plan (save up to £320 for non-iPhone trade-in). With our ‘integrated recycle’ option, instead of receiving one lump sum payment for your old device, you can take the value of your old device and spread it out across the duration of your new plan. More info on this new way to recycle here.

Q. When will I be able to use my O2 Open or student discount on the new iPhone or iPad?
A. 
For iPhone 13: O2 Open and Student Discount is available from launch. Keep an eye open here or on our Social Media feeds for any future updates regarding the Pro and Pro Max models.

For iPad (9th Gen) and iPad Mini (6th Gen): O2 Open discount is not currently available. Keep an eye open here or on our Social Media feeds for any future updates or changes to this. O2 Student Discount is available on these new iPad models.

Q. A friend/family member works for you. Can I get my friends & family discount?
A. 
Friends & Family Discounts will be available as normal. Please discuss with your friend or family member that works for O2 who will be able to give more info and apply for this.

Q. Why should I stay with or join O2?
A. 
With the new iPhones, plus all our device range on Pay Monthly, we put you in control so that you can design a plan to suit your needs. So here’s why you should join or stay with O2:

  • Spread the balance for up to 36 months to keep the cost down – or choose as little as three months if you want to pay it off quicker
  • Choose how much to pay upfront (down to £0 if you’re upgrading), giving you more freedom and flexibility

Q. Will you have enough stock for everyone who wants the new iPhone?
A. 
At launch, stock is always in very high demand so we recommend customers pre-order as soon as possible once pre-orders go live. Pre-ordering will not guarantee you launch day delivery. We'll display your estimated delivery timeframe at the time of pre-order and that's when we expect to deliver it to you.

Q. I'm wanting to upgrade but want to know all my available options
A. 
As upgrades are very much account specific and the details can vary from person to person, we'd recommend checking your My O2 app for upgrade options. We also have a dedicated Social Media Sales team you can chat with to explore all available options. Get in touch with us now on Twitter or here on Facebook.

Q. What if I want to upgrade earlier than upgrade date?
A. 
This is possible thanks to the power of Custom Plans on O2. With Custom Plans, you can upgrade at any time by simply paying off the remainder of your device plan agreement. You can off-set much or all of this cost by using O2 Recycle to trade-in your existing device, or use the value of your device to reduce your monthly cost. The option is yours.

Q. Are you offering a Yearly Upgrade Programme on your tariffs?
A. 
With O2 Custom Plans, we’re giving our customers true flexibility to be able to choose the length of tariff they want, from 3 to 36 months, and choose the data they need. And you can upgrade at any time – even if you’re only 1 month into a 36 month tariff – just by paying off your device plan.

Pre-order / Availability / Order Info 🔝

Q. Can I select Premium delivery for my new iPhone during pre-order?
A. 
No, premium delivery options will not be available from pre-order for Consumer or Business.

Q. I pre-ordered at *date/time*, when will I get my new iPhone?
A. 
When you start your pre-order journey we display an expected delivery date on the main product page. We know pre-ordering the latest iPhone is always an exciting time but please take note of that delivery estimate, as it’s what we aim to deliver within. After you’ve ordered, the next order update you’ll receive will be when your order is being prepared for delivery, so please be patient and keep an eye open for that update.

Q. How do I stay up to date on my order?
A. 
You can keep an eye on your My O2 order status, and we’ll also keep you updated as and when there’s progress with your order. Please note that if we show you an up to 3-week delivery estimate (for example), don’t be alarmed if you don’t receive any updates within that timescale – you’ll only receive an order update once your order progresses.

Device & Other Questions 🔝

Q. Will you support 5G on the new iPhones?
A. 
Yes, absolutely! You can find out more about O2 5G, including the locations where 5G is currently live – with more locations being activated regularly.

Q. Will I be able to unlock the iPhones?
A. 
Great news! Most of our devices now arrive unlocked – including these new iPhones - but if you receive a device that is locked, you can unlock this free of charge. More info here.

Q. Will it have Wifi and 4G Calling?
A. 
The new iPhone 13 range will all launch with Wifi and 4G Calling enabled

Q. Will you support eSIM for the new iPhones?
A. eSIM launched on O2 on 19 September 2019 and the technology will also be available on these new iPhone models. Customers can request an eSIM pack in-store or by getting in touch with our customer service teams.

 

Q. Will you support 5G eSIM on the new iPhones?

A. Yes, absolutely! We launched 5G eSIM in September 2020 and you can request a 5G eSIM in the same way as you would for a 4G one. More details on eSIM here.

Q. Can I use an O2 eSIM and a *other network* physical SIM, or vice versa?
A. Absolutely. You're free to mix and match how you'd like. Want to have an O2 eSIM and be able to use a 'local network' physical SIM when you go on holiday or business trips abroad? Easy. Want to use another networks' eSIM but use a physical O2 one? Done. Or vice versa? Yep, you can do that too.

Q. What iPhone's will Apple Watch Series 7 be compatible with?
A. Apple Watch Series 7 requires iPhone 6s or later with iOS 15 or later.

I got a text saying mine was in store already! Is it available for early collection or do I wait until Friday? As well, are o2 stores opening early on Friday (as per the 8am mention)? I may have to come in earlier as I have work in the day.

I pre ordered the Pro Max 1tb in Sierra Blue. I was given a click and collect date of the 1st of October from my local O2 store.

 

What are the chances of getting it early!

 

O2 live chat said if I ring the store and they have the phone in stock I can go collect. Is what they are saying true?

 

I thought i had to wait for the 4 digit collection code.

I'm a bit confused by the above FAQ regarding delivery estimates. When I look at my order tracking for my iPhone 13 Pro Max I do not see any mention of an estimated delivery date - all I can see is that my status is processed and that I am "waiting for launch day". Also, there is no other delivery estimate when submitting my upgrade other than 'available from 24th September' which is pretty vague 🤔

It's possible, but I'd say unlikely. In general, the date given will be our best estimate based on stock intake and forecasts we're given by Apple. Sometimes these can come forward, though it is unusual. I would say that if you've been quoted 1st October, I'd expect it'll be most likely on that date, but the store will send you a notification as soon as it arrives and it's ready for collection.

These texts are automated once they land in our stores and then get scanned in to confirm their arrival, but they cannot be collected early we're afraid so you'll need to wait until Friday. Regarding store opening times, these will be business as usual opening hours so would suggest checking opening times on our store locator tool here as hours may differ from store-to-store.
